Selah homes

"Selah", a Hebrew word meaning to pause and reflect

Children can stay in our Safe Place shelter for up to 72 hours. At times, 72 hours is not enough time to find the right long term home, especially for sibling groups and children whose needs are unknown. Through Hand in Hand's Selah Homes, children entering foster care for the first time are shown the love of Jesus through one family providing safety and security. Our families are in partnership with their church community where they are nurtured so they can continue to provide healthy, loving care to the children that enter their home for a maximum of 30 days.

Hand in Hand licenses our short term receiving care foster homes, to care for and assess the needs of of children entering the foster care system. This gives social workers much needed, valuable information and allows them time to find the right long term home the first time around.
